Available only in storeDesigned for demanding mountaineers, ski tourers and rescuers, the Shovel Beast Safety Blue snow shovel from Ortovox stands out for its aggressive nature and exceptional power transmission to size ratio.
With its light weight and a telescopic handle measuring 83 cm when extended, it is built around a compact blade of 26 × 20.5 × 4 cm with a surface area of 530 cm². The structural rigidity of the blade is maximised thanks to raised sides and a pronounced central rib, preventing any twisting or mechanical deformation during intense shovelling in icy or heavily compacted snow.
Designed for maximum shovelling efficiency in avalanche emergency situations, this shovel features an oval-shaped handle that increases its resistance to bending while ensuring quick and secure assembly. Its ease of use is enhanced by an ergonomic grip that allows direct thrust and optimal force transfer. In the field, the sharp edges effectively cut through hard ice crusts, while the top of the blade is equipped with anti-slip grooves providing a secure foothold to drive the blade into hard snow.
