The Spur by Blizzard is a freeride ski.
Blizzard developed this model with its team of athletes, the result is very successful and the brand wants to take the concept even further. Thus Blizzard is committed with its engineers to push the boundaries of design even further with the collaboration of their athletes.
This season's Spur is a more accessible version than its cousin the Spur concept and is revolutionising traditional powder skiing! The inspiration comes from the lines of the surfboards, as there are many similarities between powder and water. For Michele Botteon, International Product Manager, "Hydrodynamics is a major factor in this concept. "and we understand it!
Thus, the Spur is a reliable ski that is able to go very fast and is very agile. Its lift is exceptional because of its width but also because of its well-dosed rockers . Its construction which integrates carbon at the heel and tip allows for a ski which remains stable, which does not flinch even when the snow becomes technical. Its reasonable weight and its double rocker allow to keep a good manoeuvrability
The result, the Spur is a ski which brings a great precision in the beginning of the turns, a playful and efficient ski for the powder lovers!

Shape and construction :
Flat Rocker:
The pronounced camber profile at the tip and heel promotes buoyancy.
The result: increased lift and easier cornering, improved pivoting behaviour
Sidewall Construction:
Integrated partial sidewall to ensure better energy transfer, along with precision and stability from the structure. Straight edges along the whole ski
The result: the torsional rigidity created by the integrated side edges which improves ski performance.
Carbon Flipcore D.R.T (Dynamic Release Technology):
A specially moulded titanium layer that reduces torsional resistance in the tip and heel, while increasing control and stability under the foot. The unidirectional carbon in the tip and heel increases longitudinal stability without increasing torsional resistance
Result: Reduces the torsional resistance of the tip and heel, making the ski less demanding and less aggressive in soft snow
Lite Core:
Very light and powerful materials that are strategically assembled for maximum performance.
The result: ensures performance by reducing weight
Core structure:
Wood mix: Paulownia + Poplar + Balsa + Beech
The Spur is an exceptional ski due to its very wide side cuts. It is a pure powder ski that proves to be very efficient in its element. Its lift is incredible and it proves to be very stable and manoeuvrable in relation to its size. This is possible thanks to a fairly short radius and a slightly softened flex in tip and heel while maintaining rigidity under the foot
This is a perfect ski to go and have a ball in Canada or Japan under 25 meters of powder.
Advantages : Load-bearing capacity, playful, stable
Disadvantages: Versatility, it won't spend an entire day on the slopes, but that's not its goal
