Born from the encounter between the Storm Chaser and the Lone Wolf, the Storm Wolf is a very freeride oriented all-mountain board with good carving performances.
With its iconic swallow-tail shape, we know in advance that it will be very comfortable in powder. Indeed this kind of tail, inspired by surfing, is made to be able to sink into the poplar to make the nose stand out and gain lift and manoeuvrability.
The 3D Contour Base technology is present to curve the nose and allow a very fluid ride in fresh snow.
Its unique Christenson Surf Camber/Rocker camber, with a big rocker in the nose, a small one in the tail and a long camber in between, allows for excellent performance in powder. It also brings a very long Sidecut and thus the possibility of carving without any difficulty.
The sidecut is enhanced by the innovative Traction Tech 3.5 with corrugated edges at strategic points for unparalleled bite when edging. You'll feel like you're on a rail at every turn on the track.
Finally, to reduce vibrations and the feeling that the snow hits your legs with every turn, the construction of the Storm Wolf includes a layer of Carbon Innegra Reinforcement, a layer of carbon fibres arranged in a diamond pattern that absorbs the shocks for you. In addition, this stiffens the board to a flex of 8/10 and gives an impressive energy return when twisting the board.
To finish with the words of its co-creator, Chris Christenson: "The new Storm Wolf is like nothing you've seen before."

Flex : 8/10 - very rigid
Side cuts: 300-263-300 for the 157cm size
Turn radius: 8.70 m for the 157 cm model
Camber:
Christenson Surf camber Rocker : Nose and tail rocker designed by shaper Chris Christenson. Very long rocker that starts at the front and rear binding mounts. Corresponds to the rocker profile of a surfboard and allows for very high buoyancy in powder snow.
Shape :
Directional : The nose is longer and wider than the tail and the inserts have been set back on the back of the board. These features provide more lift in powder.
Tapered Shape, 10 mm: The tapered tail sinks into the powder for better flotation and faster turns.
Traction Tech 3.5 : The corrugated edges offer multiple contact points along the board which improves grip. This technology offsets the reduced length of the edge/snow contact points due to rocker.
Progressive Sidecut : The radius at the ends of the sidecut is slightly increased as the edge reaches the contact points. This larger radius ensures a smoother ride when entering and exiting turns.
3D Contour Base 3.0 : convex base shape. The edges are raised by 7mm in comparison to the centre of the board.
Technology :
- Forever Flex: A manufacturing process that durably stabilizes the flex and rocker profile of the board.
- Bamboo Surf Core: Triple-density bamboo core made of bamboo strips along the edges for better response and more powerful turns.
- Power Sustainable Basalt Stringers: 100% natural basalt stringers. Each support becomes more powerful and the torsional stiffness of the board is improved.
- Biax Fiberglass: a dual-directional fibreglass laminate for a precise and responsive board, whatever the terrain and snow conditions.
- Eco-Plastic Topsheet: Topsheet made from castor beans. This environmentally friendly material is ultra-light, chip and scratch resistant and repels water and snow (snow sticks less to the topsheet).
- Sintered 8000 base : Sole made of UHMW-PE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) and carbon. Extremely easy to repair, it also offers maximum glide properties.
- Carving Pack Inserts: Inserts that give you the option of taking an even further back position for those big powder days.
- Recycled Rounded ABS : - The ABS plastics in Jones boards are made from recycled plastic.
- Wend Natural Wax: Waxed with natural Wend wax, Jones boards are ready to use straight from the factory.
- Bio Resin: All Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy.
- Flip-Flop base: Base manufacturing process that reduces waste. Two base colours available that are delivered randomly.
