Storm Chaser 2024
The Storm Chaser is a little jewel from the Jonesbrand, it is a special Pow men's snowboard with a swallow tail shape inspired by surfboards. The Storm chaser will make you a real powder hunter and will make you want to get up and explore the fresh snow before anyone else.
Finally, to reduce vibrations and the feeling that the snow hits your legs with every turn, the construction of the Storm Chaser includes a layer of Flax/Basalt stringers, a layer of carbon fibres arranged in a diamond pattern that absorbs the shocks for you. In addition, this stiffens the board to obtain a flex of 7/10 and an energy return when twisting the board. The Storm Chaser is therefore more precise and flies like crazy!
An elegant deep powder board, the Storm Chaser has been designed by surfer and shaper Chris Christenson. Its profile is similar to that of surfboards and combines with its flat camber a very long progressive front rocker that starts in the middle of the front inserts. With its reduced size and the far back placement of the supports, the nose of the board can be raised very easily by loading the back of the snowboard.
Very short but very wide, the Storm Chaser offers outstanding flotation. It offers incomparable sliding performance thanks to the 3D contour Base 3.0 technology which gives the sole a convex force to better fly over the snow in powder. The Storm Chaser has a 100% bamboo core to give the board a responsivepersonality and powerful turns.
The Storm Chaser is an atypical and original board with an unusual shape that promises long and beautiful powder-filled turns.
Please note: In an effort to reduce waste, Jones bases are made in two different colours, that are delivered randomly.

Camber:
Christenson Surf camber Rocker : Nose and tail rocker designed by shaper Chris Christenson. Very long rocker that starts at the front and rear binding mounts. Corresponds to the rocker profile of a surfboard and allows for very high buoyancy in powder snow.
Shape :
Directional : The nose is longer and wider than the tail and the inserts have been set back on the back of the board. These features provide more lift in powder.
Traction Tech 1.0: Strategically placed corrugated edges to counteract the negative effect of the rocker and increase edge grip on the snow.
Progressive Sidecut : The radius at the ends of the sidecut is slightly increased as the edge reaches the contact points. This larger radius ensures a smoother ride when entering and exiting turns.
3D Contour Base 3.0 : convex base shape. The edges are raised by 7mm in comparison to the centre of the board.
Technology :
- Forever Flex: A manufacturing process that durably stabilizes the flex and rocker profile of the board.
- Bamboo Surf Core: Triple-density bamboo core made of bamboo strips along the edges for better response and more powerful turns.
- Power Sustainable Basalt Stringers: 100% natural basalt stringers. Each support becomes more powerful and the torsional stiffness of the board is improved.
- Biax Fiberglass: a dual-directional fibreglass laminate for a precise and responsive board, whatever the terrain and snow conditions.
- Eco-Plastic Topsheet: Topsheet made from castor beans. This environmentally friendly material is ultra-light, chip and scratch resistant and repels water and snow (snow sticks less to the topsheet).
- Sintered 8000 base : Sole made of UHMW-PE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) and carbon. Extremely easy to repair, it also offers maximum glide properties.
- Recycled Rounded ABS : - The ABS plastics in Jones boards are made from recycled plastic.
- Wend Natural Wax: Waxed with natural Wend wax, Jones boards are ready to use straight from the factory.
- Bio Resin: All Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy.
- Flip-Flop base: Base manufacturing process that reduces waste. Two base colours available that are delivered randomly.
La Storm Chaser est une planche de conditions particulières où la poudreuse doit être présente et dans des quantités minimum requises ! Très joueuse de part son gabarit réduit, la Storm Chaser est une planche de poudreuse qui atteint des vitesses folles lorsque la pente est bien raide et qui déjauge vraiment toute seule.
Faisant partie de cette nouvelle génération des planches très courtes de freeride, la Storm Chaser est une planche exclusivement faite pour les grosses conditions d'enneigement. Son cambre plat et les deux rockers sont très prononcés, c'est pourquoi le Traction-Tech 1.0 est la pour apporter une minimum d'accroche lorsque vous quittez la poudreuse.
Les Plus : noyau en bambou, très joueuse et maniable.
Les Moins : les powders turns seront trop facile à faire !
