The Wayback 80 is a men's touring ski from K2.
The Wayback range offers excellent downhill performance, great grip and impressive stability in all snow conditions. This range has also been fitted with Snowphobic hydrophobic topsheets. These prevent snow from sticking to the top of your skis, which would weigh your ski down. Ingenious! The Skin Grommets skin attachment system is very easy to use and ultra-reliable.
Thanks to the Titanal Touring Technology, a construction combining a Paulownia Tour Lite wood core, it is cherry-picked for its lightweight properties and its lively performance, as well as two layers of carbon fibre and fibreglass reinforcements. To top it all off, a Titanal plate mainly placed around the centre of the ski, offers exceptional stability without weighing the ski down.
The Wayback with its 80mm waist, is the thinnest and lightest ski in the range. With 968g on the scales, the ski is a real machine capable of climbing indefinitely. It loves the climb and your legs will thank it during your very long day trips or your excursions over several days.
In terms of construction, this Wayback 80 differs slightly from the rest of the range, with a hybrid Paulownia / Balsa core, offering a perfect combination of maximum lightness and responsiveness. Despite the narrow sidecuts, the Wayback 80 does surprisingly well on the downhill, thanks to a construction that offers incredible stability, even in difficult conditions.
Simply put, the Wayback 80 is a touring ski for experienced skiers. Ultra-light, it will accompany you on your wildest adventures, from the deepest valleys to the highest peaks. No matter what elevation you wish to achieve, this Wayback 80 is a means of transport to move quickly and for a long time in the mountains.

A newcomer to the Wayback range, this 80 mm waist version is less than a kilogram per ski, which is impressive. What impresses us even more is the serenity it exudes when we switch on the ski mode. We really went for it in complicated conditions and the ski held without batting an eyelid. The paulownia / balsa core and the new titanal reinforcements clearly do their job very well considering what the ski is capable of doing. Certainly in powder, the lift will not be incredible and the ski is not very playful, but if you want a ski to move quickly in the mountains, and fly down very big slopes, then this Wayback 80 will be the perfect weapon.
