The Prodigy 1 2026 Capsule is a ski from East Faction designed for freestyle and all-mountain practice and aimed at intermediate skiers.
The skis in the Prodigy range are designed for all-mountain use, but with certain freestyle or freeride specificities depending on the model.
All the Prodigy are built in the same way and with the same technology. They have a Twin Directional shape with two rockers at the ends , giving them good behaviour and handling on all types of snow, both forwards and backwards. Only the core and the side cuts vary from one model to another.
With its 88 mm waist, the Prodigy 1 East is a real all-rounder. Thanks to its hybrid poplar-ash core construction, it is light, dynamic and offers a solid and durable platform for big landings. The 2.5mm XL edges and ultra-solid sidewalls deliver excellent performance in the Park and on hard snow, and considerably extend the ski's lifespan.
Thus, the Prodigy 1 is a true all-mountain ski with a preference for freestyle! At ease on and off-piste, it is even more so in the park. In the air, the Prodigy 1 is well balanced, the tip and tail have a very playful character.

At Faction, there are three possible binding arrangements, from the most advanced to the furthest back: Newschool / Progressive / Classic. By default, assemblies will be carried out in accordance with the brand's recommendations, i.e. Progressive on Dancer, Agent, Prodigy and La Machine ; Newschool on Studio.
| POPLAR AND ASH CORE | Poplar is a soft, light-coloured and strong wood that has good flex and pop, as well as a high capacity to absorb vibrations. Ash is a heavier and harder wood that combines well with poplar because it provides more rigidity and durability. This mix offers excellent edge hold on hard snow and a solid platform for big parties, and plenty of pop and flex to unleash your creativity. |
| XL 2.5 MM EDGES | The 2.5mm Edges are 35% thicker than regular 1.8mm Edges, which are already very tough. The addition of Steel gives riders a ski that can withstand the 'aggression' of certain practical activities for longer. |
| ELLIPTICAL RADIUS SIDECUTS | The sidecuts with elliptic radii consist of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radius on the front and rear parts of the ski. The long radius under the foot makes pivoting quicker and easier, while the shorter radii give a smoother start to curves. These sidecuts are perfectly suited to a wide range of turn angles and sizes. |
| SANDWICH CONSTRUCTION WITH ULTRA-SOLID EDGES | This construction is based around reinforcements along the edges of the side wall, between the edge and the topsheet. The edges offer the best possible stability and Grip when the ski is negotiating a turn, while protecting the Wood core, edges and topsheet from possible impact and outer damage. |
| MICRO-CAP ANTI-SLIP | The micro cap is a Hybrid construction that combines premium edge-bonded sandwich construction with lightweight, durable cap construcion. Thanks to micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides exceptional edge hold and torsional stability, while the topsheet partially covers the edge, protecting the fragile edge that could otherwise flake off in the event of impact. |
| MOUSTACHE FLEX | Stability at the front and back of the binding zone ensures good edge hold. The soft, progressive flex in the heel and tip easily absorbs any bumps. This flex makes it easier to start and finish turns. |
| CARBON AND RUBBER STOMP PAD | A 600mm-long, 15mm-wide carbon and rubber insert adds strength where it matters most. Not only does it protect the Wooden core from violent impacts, it also adds stability and absorbs vibrations under the boots, so landings are more pleasant for both you and your skis. |
| TWIN DIRECTIONAL | The tail is considerably thinner than the tip for increased performance. The Tail twin is an invitation to adopt a playful, freestyle style, making riding in Switch perfectly accessible. |
