Description

The Frontier is a men's snowboard from Jones. Usually specialising in high-level freeride snowboards, they have created the Frontier, an All-mountain board designed for intermediate to experienced riders.

Like any good all-mountain snowboard, le Frontier is at ease in all conditions and will accompany you throughout the season. It is just as effective in the snowpark as on the piste or backcountry.

With its Directional Rocker profile, it has a camber in the middle and two rockers at the ends. The much more pronounced front rocker gives it a lot of lift and allows it to remain very manoeuvrable in powder snow. Its Directional Shape also goes in this direction and brings an excellent fluidity and a great ability to turn whether it is in powder snow or on the piste.

The 3D Contour Base 1.0 technology is also integrated and makes the board bends slightly upwards at the ends. This will allow for an even smoother ride and easier turning without the risk of an edge fault.

The Traction Tech 2.0 serrated edges give the board enhanced grip to ensure secure turns.

The medium 6/10 flex is ensured by a full poplar core which provides efficient and durable pop. It is reinforced with a layer of Biax Fiberglass, two layers of fiberglass that stiffen the board and give it a playful and forgiving feel.

The Frontier is therefore a versatile and safe board, for intermediate and advanced-level riders. You can easily go from off-piste to the snow park, and then back to the piste and the your board will always feel in its element.

Camber:

Directional Rocker: Classic camber combined with rocker, for greater lift and grip in all snow conditions. The longer tip rocker improves float, while the camber ensures edge hold and response. The shorter tail rocker not only provides the same power and stability than other boards, but prevents catch when entering turns and landing switch.

Shape:

Directional: The nose is longer and wider than the tail and the inserts have been set back on the back of the board. These features provide more lift in powder.

3D Contour Base 2.0: Convex shape of the sole. The edges are raised by 4mm in comparison to the centre of the board.

Blunt Nose : the blunt nose provides the lift benefits of a longer nose without the rounded shape and extra weight.

Traction Tech 2.0: Strategically placed corrugated edges to counteract the negative effect of the rocker and increase edge grip on the snow.

Progressive Sidecut: The radius at the ends of the sidecut is slightly increased as the edge reaches the contact points. This larger radius ensures a smoother ride when entering and exiting turns.

Technologies:

- Forever Flex: A manufacturing process that durably stabilizes the flex and rocker profile of the board.

- Classic Core: Premium poplar wood core ensures a good pop and a constant and durable flex.

- Biax Fiberglass: a dual-directional fibreglass laminate for a precise and responsive board, whatever the terrain and snow conditions.

- Sintered 8000 base: Base made from UHMW-PE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) and carbon. Extremely easy to repair, it also offers maximum glide properties.

-Flip-Flop base: Base manufacturing process that reduces waste. Two base colours available, delivered randomly.

-Eco-Plastic Topsheet: Topsheet made from castor beans. This environmentally friendly material is ultra-light, chip and scratch resistant and repels water and snow (snow sticks less to the topsheet).

- Recycled ABS: - The ABS plastics in Jones boards are made from recycled plastic.

- Wend Natural Wax: Waxed with natural Wend wax, Jones boards are ready to use straight from the factory.

- Bio Resin: All Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy.

Team review

Underneath its easy-to-ride exterior, the Frontier requires a minimum of technique. The mid-range flex is great for freestyle riding, but can also be used for more challenging freeride situations.

Its classic camber and wavy edges help you enjoy carving nice, clean curves on the slopes. The Frontier is a true all-rounder, and perfect for enjoying the entire ski resort, whatever the weather conditions.
