No subject to promotional offersThe Machine 2 Mini 2023 is a men's ski touring ski from the brand Faction, ideal for both freerando and classic touring.
What was originally a single model is now a La Machine complete collection, designed for touring, freerando or even freeride use, depending on the version. The range comprises four models ranging from 91 to 126 mm in width, plus a child’s model. Although the range is extensive, the skis La Machine share a common construction, featuring a core which Paulownia , combined with two layers of carbon, provides them with a great deal of lightness. The range also La Machine features deep rocker profiles and relatively soft flex. The result is a ski that excels in handling and floatation in flexible, deep snow.
Although wider than the Microversion, the ski La Machine 2 Mini remains highly versatile but will perform slightly better in Powder snow. With a 99 mm waist and a generous 380 mm tip rocker, these skis will let you float and turn however you like in Powder snow. Despite its excellent freeride features, its reinforced carbon construction and Paulownia core still allow you to keep the bike relatively light during the ascent. Its reduced weight combined with a flexible flex will make you as agile as a cat when you're off-piste.

Extended tip rocker and tail rocker
The term ‘extended rocker’ refers to a reversed camber at the tip and tail which, along with the waist width, is the most important factor for achieving good lift in fresh snow. The extended rocker also makes it easier to pivot the ski and initiate curves, and reduces the risk of catching an edge.
Construction :
Lightweight core made of paulownia and poplar
Paulownia is a stable, lightweight hardwood. It is combined with softer poplar to enhance the ski’s flex and pop. The combination of these two woods results in an ultra-light core that offers maximum responsiveness and dynamism.
Carbon fibre across the entire surface
Between 8 and 12 carbon strips are laid unidirectionally on either side of the core to provide even greater stability without adding weight. Each carbon strip is woven with fibreglass to provide maximum strength and rigidity in all directions.
Sidecuts with elliptical radii
Ski sidecuts with elliptical radii consist of a longer radius under the foot and shorter radii at the front and rear of the ski. The long spoke under the foot allows for quicker and easier pivoting, whilst the shorter spokes enable smoother entry into curves. These sidecuts are ideally suited to a wide variety of lengths and curve angles.
Surf Zones
Surf Zone technology has been designed to combine the rocker and the tapered shape of the tips, ensuring that these two key features work in perfect harmony. The Rocker provides lift and makes it easier to turn the ski, whilst the Tapered Tips (tapered tips) shift the widest part of the ski towards the centre, thereby reducing the risk of the edge catching unexpectedly. This technology provides excellent lift and a smooth ride, whatever the conditions.
Full-strength sidewall
Resistant sidewalls are a construction method that involves applying layers of protective material along the edges of the sidewall, between the edge and the topsheet. The edges provide the best possible stability and grip when the ski is turning, whilst protecting the wooden core, the edges and the top sheet from potential impacts and external damage.
Toe and tip:
On our skis featuring a cap construction at the tip and tail, we fit ultra-strong edges to the central section of the ski, but wrap the topsheet around the ski’s edge right down to the edge at the tip and tail. This protects the ski from impacts and thus improves its durability, whilst reducing the ski’s overall weight, making it ideal for freestyle skiing or ski touring.
With Faction, there are three possible binding configurations: Classic / Progressive (+1.5 cm) / Newschool (+3 cm). By default, bindings will be fitted in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations: Classic on the Dancer and Agentmodels, Progressive on the Machine and Prodigy models, and Newschool on the Manamodels.
De la légèreté en montée et de la largeur en descente.. Que demander de plus à un bon ski de rando ?
Une fois la montée terminée, à peine épuisé grâce au poids réduit de La Machine 2 Mini, il est temps d'enfiler ces fameuses Machines. Le début de la descente est tout de suite très agréable, on sent très bien la souplesse des skis, nous donnant l'impression de rider dans du coton. Les skis sont également très à l'aise avec les virages courts, maniabilité ++.
