Burton's Ion Boa flagship model is for experienced all/mountain freeriders who want to give it their all! The Ion Boa boots are well-known and recognised for legendary performances and gusto. They're versatile boots that will never let you down on a slope. You can put on these boots even faster for a tight fit that won't budge thanks to the Boa technology.
The freeride, all-mountain Ion Boa boots' stiff flex (8/10) react instantly which is ideal for focused, accuracy out on backcountry tracks. The intermediate, EST® insole not only thins down the insole to noticeably gain weight but also improves how the board feels and lowers your centre of gravity.
The feather-weight Life liner with Total Comfort design is extremely comfortable from the very first day on the slopes. And because comfort is also about warmth, the Ion Boa® has Sleeping Bag thermal insulation and DRYRIDE™ Heat Cycle so you can ride feeling warm and dry. Handy when you need to walk through the snow to get to the starting point you'd planned!

Life liner: feather weight liner which adapts to foot shape for a relaxed feel. The reactive PU tongue is durable and even quicker to respond.

Tuff Cuff : as used by professionals, keeps ankle and heel in place and inner liner stable. Flexibility across the length of the feet.

AutoCANT cushioning: the dual-density EVA allows the feet to rest in their natural position for relaxed riding and ultimate comfort. Reduces tiredness. Board control is direct and flexible.
ReBounce Cushioning: this is in the shell of the boot, close to your foot, and provides an extra layer of impact protection. The thermal insulation also traps heat. Consistent performance in cold temperatures.
Cushion Technology isothermal Sleeping Bag:light, fine layer which reflects the warmth of the foot.
Lacing:
Dual Zone High-Power Focus Boa® System featuring Coiler™ In addition to the speed, comfort, and durability you’d expect, this system’s top attribute is better fit in the sweet spot (mid foot) area of the shell. This is achieved through a Focus Boa® lace path that improves positioning around the midfoot, which is enhanced by the Boa® High Power reel for effortless and total lower zone closure.
Comfort:
Total Comfort Construction: Best possible feel from the very first use. The Total Comfort design leaves out the process of molding the foot to the liner, favouring instead a liner that adapts to your body directly.
Outer shell pressure relief panel: extra soft cushioning around the heel strap to evenly distribute pressure caused by tight bindings.
Snowproof internal gusset: the lower zone of the boot is completely sealed off from the snow, keeping feet warm and dry all day.
Insole: EVA molded level 2 insole for lightweight and long-lasting shock absorption.
Outsole:
EST optimised midsole: outsole developed to adapt better to the EST bindings so that connection and information transfer is even quicker. Not only does the midsole reduce the overall weight of the shoe, but also shifts your centre of gravity and enhances the feel. The B3 gel is a very effective shock absorber.
Shrinkage™ technology: reduces the overall outer-sole by one size. A size 10 will wear a size 10 but with a size 9 outer-sole profile. A shorter, lighter weight.
Sizing tip: We recommend that you order a size up from your usual size.
The Burton Ion Boa® hasn't aged at all! The Life liner and the thin EST® midsole are very popular for this top-of-the-range boot. The Life Liner puts the foot directly into its most naturally comfortable position.
The board feel is even better thanks to the thin sole. The Ion Boa®and bindings work together perfectly.Lightweight for walking, the Ion Boa® provides significant weight saving especially when riding heavy freeride boards and bindings.
