The Helio Carbon 115 is a touring ski from Black Diamond.
The Helio Carbon range are skis that are made for backcountry use. The skis are similar to the Helio Recon range that we already knew, but in a lighter version so as to be able to take on even great slopes. Available in several widths from 88 for long hikers on technical terrain to 115 for powder lovers in search of fresh powder.
The Helio Carbon 104 is the widest ski of the range. It is intended for skiers looking for a versatile free touring ski. Wide enough to float through powder but light enough to easily access the best areas of the mountain.
This ski has a Paulownia wood core reinforced with a carbon fibre structure and strategic fibreglass placement. This structure offers a progressive flex with good torsional rigidity for such a light ski. The ski also has an ABS edge down the entire length of the ski. This provides cushioning and a more incisive and easy edge hold. Finally, the front rocker ensures good lift in powder, especially when making the first trail in fresh snow.
Therefore, this is a light, playful and precise touring ski when going downhill
