Expedition 3 Whippet Desert Sage

TheDesert Sage Expedition 3 Whippet is a lightweight, resistant and adjustable ski touring pole from the brand Black Diamond.

Made from sturdy aluminium , this three-part pole is easily adjustable thanks to the two adjustment systems FlickLock®. Another notable innovation is the inclusion of a screwdriver bit PH3, which will allow you to adjust your bindings directly in the field.

The redesigned handle is integrated with a EVAfoam grip extension for a comfortable grip, as well as a flat-edged knob that’s very useful for scraping off ice or snow that builds up on your skis. You will also find a steel spike on the head of this model, which is sold individually, allowing you to use the Pole as an ice axe when the slope becomes steep. Finally, a textured rubber tip makes it easier to handle the wedges and fastenings, whilst the wrist straps, secured with a lark’s head knot, are both sturdy and easy to remove in an emergency.
