Description

Designed for those who love to push the limits on piste as well as in powder, the Excavator from K2 Snowboard lives up to its name.

Its wider shape Volume Shift™ and 20 mm taper concentrate the surface underfoot to provide greater flotation, stability and maneuverability. This design allows you to choose a board 4 to 10 cm shorter than your usual size, while limiting the risk of toe or endpiece contact during committed carves. A real advantage for large feet and deep edge holds.

Its dual-radius sidecut makes linking turns easier and delivers excellent edge hold on groomed pistes, while its behaviour remains playful when fresh snow covers the mountain. The S1 core, combining bamboo, poplar and paulownia, effectively absorbs vibrations while maintaining dynamism and lightness. The ICG™ 10 fiberglass and Carbon Power Forks™ reinforce pop and responsiveness to power out of turns or improvise some ollies. Finally, the Hybritech™ construction reduces rotational inertia and optimises durability, while the 4001 sintered base impregnated with wax ensures fast and long-lasting glide.

HYBRITECH™ The result of years of rigorous testing, Hybritech™ is the lightest and most durable snowboard construction on the market. What makes Hybritech™ so revolutionary is the elimination of all excess material on the edges at the extremities (tip and endpiece) and the addition of a 3D "cap" construction; this strengthens the bond with the fiberglass while reducing the board's rotational inertia (swing weight). Our boards turn faster, are more manoeuvrable, and last longer than any other board on the market.
FIBERGLASS ICG™ 10 Biaxial fiberglass ICG™ 10 with carbon. The integration of longitudinal carbon fibre reinforcements into the fiberglass increases the snowboard’s liveliness without adding unnecessary stiffness.
BASE SINTERED 4001 Made from the hardest and fastest sintered base material on the market (branded Crown), the Wax-Infused Sintered 4001 base retains wax longer than other sintered bases, delivering smoother and longer-lasting glide.
S1 CORE Composed of bamboo, poplar, and paulownia, the S1 core allows each wood species to express its best qualities. Bamboo stringers running from tip to endpiece provide dynamism, durability, and cushioning underfoot, while the lightweight paulownia at the centre, tip, and endpiece reduces rotational inertia (swing weight). Underfoot, the poplar and bamboo are arranged at a 30° angle to reinforce the structure, boost responsiveness during edge changes, and optimise pressure distribution along the edge.
VOLUME SHIFT™ We reduce rotational inertia as well as the risk of toe or endpiece drag by shifting the load-bearing surface from the extremities towards the centre (waist) of the board. This allows you to choose a size 4 to 10 cm shorter than your usual length.
