The Control Max is Baffin's most extreme boot. Its rugged look and tested qualities make it the ideal boot for anyone heading off on expeditions to the coldest parts of the world.
First of all, you need good insulation. And the Control Max would be just the right fit. A first layer of insulated leather ensures waterproofing and provides an initial barrier to the cold. The extra warm lining adds robust, effective insulation down to -70°C. So you're guaranteed thermal protection wherever you are in the world.
Next, you need a high-performance shoe that is comfortable on the ground. The sole block has a lot to do with this, as it will provide grip and help you make progress. In response to this essential need, Baffin has chosen a polar rubber sole to maximise grip on ice and snow. Foot movement is facilitated by the EVA midsole, while the Artic Rubber Shell provides a real barrier against impact and the elements. So you can stay out for hours without ever getting cold.
The result is amazing: the Control Max has all the features needed to get to the ends of the earth, without worrying about the cold or the terrain.
