The Deacon 84 from Völkl is a downhill ski for men.
It is an all-terrain ski composed of a high quality Full Sensor Wood Core combined with 3D technologies which gives a sporty gliding result. The Deacon 84 remains stable and reliable despite changing snow conditions. It adapts well to the terrain in which is thanks to the 3D.Glass technology which provides excellent grip on icy tracks and a dynamic boost in the end of turns.
The Deacon 84 is a concentrate of technologies, in particular the Titanal Frame present in its structure and the Full Sidewall , making it a reactive and powerful ski to satisfy experienced skiers who want a ski that is committed when it is needed. The new 3D radius Sidecut innovation allows it to be manoeuvrable even on all types of snow.
The Deacon 84 is an ideal ski for carving and its versatility on both hard and fresh snow is noteworthy.
The skis are mounted with the LowRide XL 13 GW binding which is compatible with GripWalksoles

Weight : 6028 g for 172 cm
Turn Radius :
- 12 m for 162 cm
- 13 m for 167 cm
- 14 m for 172 cm
- 15 m for 177 cm
- 16 m for 182 cm
Core :
3D Ridge Core: Composed of a Full Sensor Woodcore base and a central wooden edge allowing the transmission of the power from the tip to the heel.
Rocker :
XTD Tip & Tail Rocker: Volkl's own shape, the rocker is longer and the camber is shorter underfoot. The tip becomes stronger and the waist softer.
Sole :
P-Tex 4504 : High density base with a sintered finish. In addition to excellent wear resistance and perfect ski wax absorption, the P-Tex 4500 is extremely fast and only used for high-performance Volkl skis. The material has been improved with special additives to make it thermo and electro-conductive and proves itself with quality gliding and maximum speed in racing.
Technologies :
- 3D Ridge : The most extreme and effective construction. A precise flex with a precise power transmission from the tip to the tail of the ski. Ultra-light, reduced rotational forces.
- 3D Glass : Improves the dynamism and agility of the ski. More efficient power transmission thanks to a better torsional strength.
- Titanal Frame
Power on the ski edges
Straight edges along the whole ski
Light and strong carbon tips
- Full Sidewall : Straight edges along the whole ski

The Deacon 84 offers even more performance! In particular, it incorporates Titanal to be even more dynamic and responsive. With its 84mm waist, it is particularly effective on the piste, but its heel and tip are wide enough to allow the ski to be able to break through in fresh snow when it is not too deep. For experienced skiers who want to do everything with just one pair!
Advantages: accuracy, stability, performance
Disadvantages: load bearing in powder
