Product not eligible for returnNew for the 2022/2023 season, theUltra Stratos Split is an all-purpose splitboard from Jones. It is very similar to Stratos Split but will be a little lighter on the way up and more dynamic on the way down. It is therefore aimed at an expert riding public, used to pushing the board to its furthest limits.
Its Tapered 10mm Directionnal Shape is perfect for riding in powder and lifting. In the same spirit, the 3D Contour Base technology helps to maintain the board on the surface and facilitates turns in fresh snow as well as on groomed snow. WhereUltra Stratos differs from Stratosis in the construction of its core. It combines the brand's lightest wood Fusion Corewith Koroyd, a synthetic material that absorbs vibrations and adds responsiveness. This combination gives us a board that is both light on the way up and ultra efficient on the way down.
The Directional rocker camber coupled with Fiberglass Reinforcement technology offers excellent pop. The short sidecut makes it a very enjoyable and maneuverable board that turns quickly on the snow and in the air. Finally, the Traction Tech 3.0 technology gives a grip with a lot of bite, which will give you a secure grip when climbing on icy passages, but also a great feeling when carving if you go back down the slope.
A little eco touch, theUltra Stratos uses recycled plastic for its topsheet,recycled steel for the edges and Bio Resin.
TheUltra Stratos is therefore a versatile and high performance splitboard that will delight experienced riders.
The board is delivered as is, with Karakoram Ultra Clips included.

Camber:
Directional Rocker : classic camber with rocker for greater float and grip in all snow conditions. The longer tip rocker improves float, while the camber ensures edge hold and response. The shorter tail rocker not only provides the same power and stability than other boards, but prevents catch when entering turns and landing switch.
Shape :
Directional : The nose is longer and wider than the tail and the inserts have been set back on the back of the board. These features provide more lift in powder.
Tapered Shape, 10 mm : The tapered tail sinks into the powder for better flotation and faster turns.
Blunt Nose: the blunt nose provides the lift benefits of a longer nose without the rounded shape and extra weight.
Bolt-less Bridge : reducing the components of the link box and therefore reducing weight. In addition, the skis are more closely bonded, improving torsional rigidity.
3D Contour Base 3.0 : convex base shape The edges are raised by 7mm in comparison to the centre of the board.
Inside & Outside Traction Tech 3.0 : The corregated edges offer multiple contact points along the board which improves grip. This technology offsets the reduced length of the edge/snow contact points due to rocker.
Progressive Sidecut : The radius at the ends of the sidecut is slightly increased as the edge reaches the contact points. This larger radius ensures a smoother ride when entering and exiting turns.

- Fiberglass Reinforcement: Layer of fibre that improves the pop in the nose and the longevity of the flex.
-Textured Eco-Plastic Topsheet: Topsheet made from castor beans. This environmentally friendly material is ultra-light, chip and scratch resistant and repels water and snow (snow sticks less to the topsheet).
- Ultra Base: Sole material for better wax absorption and gliding on wet snow.
- Karakoram Ultra 3C Clips with Tip-Lock : Jones splitboards have Karakoram clips as well as hooks on the nose and tail. This model, specially developed by Karakoram for Jones, is a durable, ultra-light and adjustable 3-point attachment system.
- Recycled ABS: - The ABS plastics in Jones boards are made from recycled plastic.
- Wend Natural Wax: Waxed with natural Wend wax, Jones boards are ready to use straight from the factory.
- Bio Resin : All Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy.
Au premier coup d'oeil le Split Ultra Stratos nous renvoie l'image d'une planche avec du caractère, capable de se faire une place sur tous les types de terrains. Son TopSheet noir lui donne un design épuré, très élégant.
Une fois le split aux pieds, le résultat est également au rdv. A la montée les carres sont super adhérents et nous donnent un vrai sentiment de sécurité sur les passages glacés. Au niveau du poids, comme on pouvait s'y attendre au vu des materiaux utilisés, le split est vraiment léger.
En descente, la planche est incroyablement polyvalente ! En quelques secondes, elle passe facilement d'un champs de peuf au snowpark, et il est bien difficile de savoir où elle est la plus à l'aise !
On retrouve également une planche très réactive et maniable. Elle est relativement rigide donc davantage adaptée à un public averti. En revanche lorsqu'on est capable d'exploiter son potentiel, cette planche est un véritable régal.
