Description

The Skun Ape II is an all-mountain/freestyle snowboard developed by LibTech.

Freestyle boards are too often designed to be narrow and short. However, this poses a real problem for riders needing slightly larger sizes. With the Skunk Ape IIthe American brand Libtech brand is aimed at these riders and offers them the solution. With 268mm on the skate, there is no risk of catching your toes on the rails! In addition, the longer length of the board compared to conventional boards ensures excellent stability. The big advantage of its side cuts is we find ourselves with a board that will be at ease on the powder!

But it is on the freestyle side that the Skun Ape II has a lot to offer. It has a C2x hybrid camber with a centre rocker that gives it great manoeuvrability and makes you turn in a snap. It's that same camber that will give you that long-awaited pop to propel you into the air before your next backflip! Despite the big rib lines, the construction is also flexible enough to offer you a wide range of tricks to perform without difficulty.

The Skun Ape II also does very well on the track, offering a good mix of grip, forgiveness and stability at high speeds.

As you can see, the Skunk Ape II has qualities that can be put to good use on all terrains, but its favourite domain is freestyle. Whether in the park or in the backcountry, its dimensions ensure a real pleasure of riding for the biggest riders, without the risk of crashing.

Camber:

C2x (Hybrid camber) : The C2x consists of a rocker between the supports and camber under each binding. The tips also have rockers. The most versatile camber in the range Lib Tech. The X version has a shorter and more aggressive rocker for more responsiveness.

Shape :

Twin Directional : : shape in which the tip is wider than the rear, making it easier to enter and exit turns, allowing for greater the stability at high speeds, and improved float.

Composition/Technologies :

Core
- Horse Powerwooden core from farms near the factory Lib Tech. Aspen 60%, Paulownia 40% to lighten the core.
- UHMW Tip/Tail Impact Deflection: The nose and tail of the board are made of UHMW polyethylene, not wood. Why? In the event of sinking due to an impact your core will not have any water infiltration and your board will live longer.
- Birch Internal Sidewall: The wood along the edges is birch.
- UHMW Sintered Sidewall: The sidewalls are made of UHMW (a kind of elastomer) and not of polluting ABS.

- ECO Sublimated Poly Top : Organic Top Sheet!
- Tri-ax / Bi-Ax Fiber + Basalt : Bi-axial and tri-axial fibreglass and basalt for core rigidity.

Sole

Edges
Magne-Traction : the edges of Libtech boards are in two parts and not in one. The edges are independent of each other so if you dent or tear it, it will be easier to repair. In addition, they are strategically corrugated for more grip on powder but also and especially on hard snow.

Avec ses dimensions super larges, la Skunk Ape réussit parfaitement le test de la poudreuse, mais son shape Directionnal Twin assure une maniabilité sans efforts pour être à l'aise dans le park.
