The Session 89 is a men's touring ski from Movement.
Over the years, Movement has become the benchmark brand in the manufacture of touring skis, especially freetouring. They give you an excellent performance/weight ratio so you can ski like you had freeriding skis on, while being comfortably able to take them up on the peaks.
With an 89mm waist, the Session 89 is a versatile ski from the range for tourers who don't want to have to choose between comfort on ascent and fun on the descent. Modernised in comparison to its predecessor, the Session 89 is a modern ski in its geometry with a load-bearing tip that gives great lift. Its rocker has evolved, making it even more comfortable. The Session 89 is equipped with CTS LIGHT technology and Light Cap ABS Sidewall edges in the waist area, allowing excellent energy transmission. The karuba wood core construction combined with a further improved 5-axis carbon reinforcement gives it a lot of energy and stability while remaining very light.
The ABS Shock Absorber reinforcement allows it to absorb vibrations and save your legs in tough passages. This is a fairly rigid ski that behaves very well in steep and difficult snow conditions, thanks in particular to its flat tail, which sets it apart from the other skis in the range, and which offers a real tail presence, the ski never flinches and relaunches when necessary.
The Session 89 is perfect for advanced and expert level tourers who want to conquer hilly terrain, but want the best performance on descents. A serious and dynamic ski.

Shape:
Rocker tip / traditional camber / flat tail
Core:
Karuba wood
Turn radius / weight per ski:
161 cm: 16.5 m / 1220 g
169 cm: 17.5 m / 1300 g
177 cm: 18 m / 1380 g
185 cm: 19 m / 1480 g
Construction:
- CTS light: Control Torsion System Light, a 3D Light Cap ABS Sidewall with a very specific characteristic where the ABS penetrates into the wooden core and acts as a reinforcement. Lighter than the classic CTS.
- DPR Ti: Two-plate system, one made of fibreglass and the other made of Titanal, fully incorporated beneath the bindings to ensure the screws are anchored perfectly for foolproof stability.
-Touring rocker: A tip/tail rocker specific to mountain ski ranges. This rocker means perfect balance for skis that are often challenged in very variable conditions that can sometimes be extreme. Easy turn initiation even in the event of additional loads (heavy mountaineering bag) and excellent performance for skiing in mixed terrain.
- VA-Tech: Natural rubber layer with incorporated fibreglass positioned at the front of the ski to absorb vibrations.
- Carbon 5-Axis: Minimum weight and maximum performance in the most variable conditions. More reactivity and hold on hard or difficult snow or steep slopes due to high levels of torsion resistance.
- ASA (ABS Shock Absorber): located on the sensitive part of the boot as a vibration dampener.
- Edges: Rando Edge
- Base: P-TEX 4000
