The UNW8 is a snowboard from Amplid. It is designed for all-mountain use commitment and for intermediate to advanced snowboarders.
The UNW8 is new this season and is part of the Centrifugal Collection range, a range of boards that perform well in carving and are very comfortable off-piste. The Centrifugal boards are the most technologically advanced, containing the latest innovations from the brand.
It is the most versatile snowboard of the range. Even though it is unbeatable on the slopes, you can still take it for long days of freeriding and even take it to the park to try new rotations.
As it is designed to take a lot of speed on all types of snow, it needs to be very stable. To achieve this, Amplid has developed their own Antiphase technology : a combination of carbon fibre and non-Newtonian fluid which drastically reduces vibrations and prevents the nose from vibrating.
The flex of 8, the tri-axial glass fibre layers and the Lite Core make it a hyper reactive and ultra precise board that switches instantly from one edge to the other and carves as if you were in rails. In addition, Centrifugal Carbon inserts in the tail amplify the pop and give crazy energy at every turn.
The UNW8 is therefore a very powerful and versatile board, which will follow you everywhere as long as you go fast and hard

Camber:
Pop Camber: long standard camber under the supports which allows a very long effective edge and an excellent energy restitution when put under tension.
Shape:
Directional: classic shape with the nose slightly longer than the tail for float on unpacked snow. Directional refers to a shape in which the tip is wider than the tail, making it easier to enter and exit turns, allowing for greater stability at high speeds, and improved float.
All-terrain Tips: slightly wider tips that increase lift without impacting the responsiveness of the board.
Core:
Lite Core: ultra light core with the best power to weight ratio of the brand.
Centrifugal Carbon: unidirectional carbon strips placed in the tail, which amplify the pop and energy restitution.
Hexo2: the tips incorporate honeycomb parts for effective weight saving!
Pre-cured Impact Plates : core reinforcement at fastener inserts limiting impacts caused by bindings
Antiphase: Carbon fibre assembly within a non-Newtonian fluid that absorbs vibrations very efficiently.
Topsheet:
Triax Fibreglass : Triple layer of fibreglass applied in three directions for a reactive and tolerant board.
Sole:
Sintered 7 HD base: ultra high density, very hard and resistant sintered sole. The fastest base from the brand.

La UNW8, est notre board préférée de la gamme. C'est une excellente planche all-mountain qui est super à l'aise sur piste et permet de tailler de magnifiques courbes. Le cambre amène une prise de carre appuyée et précise, tout en développant un pop énergétique. Elle se comporte également très bien en peuf, déjauge avec facilité et se manie facilement.
Bref, la planche all-mountain parfaite.
