A surprising board from Jones, the Storm Chaser Split is a men's splitboard for intermediate to advanced riders.
With the swallow shape tail for free carving inspired by surfing, the Storm Chaser Split will turn you into a real powder hunter and will make you want to get up before everyone else to go out and enjoy the early morning snow.
As with every hiking trip, you have to start with the ascent. The Storm Chaser Split is an agile board when climbing thanks to its reduced size, which makes it easy to squeeze through the fir trees. A board designed to explore the abyss of powder, its width offers good lift in fresh snow.
The Storm Chaser is an elegant deep powder board, designed by surfer and shaper Chris Christenson. Its profile is similar to that of surfboards and combines with its flat camber a very long progressive front rocker that starts in the middle of the front inserts. With its reduced size and the far back placement of the supports, the nose of the board can be raised very easily by loading the back of the snowboard.
Very short but very wide, the Storm Chaser Split offers outstanding flotation. It offers gliding performance thanks to its Sintered 8000 sole which makes the Storm Chaser Split a real rocket.
The Storm Chaser is an atypical and original board with an unusual shape that promises long and beautiful powder-filled turns.
The board is delivered as is, with Karakoram Ultra Clips included.
Please note: In an effort to reduce waste, Jones bases are made in two different colours, that are delivered randomly.

Camber:
Christenson Surf camber Rocker : Nose and tail rocker designed by shaper Chris Christenson. Very long rocker that starts at the front and rear binding mounts. Corresponds to the rocker profile of a surfboard and allows for very high buoyancy in powder snow.
Shape :
Directional : The nose is longer and wider than the tail and the inserts have been set back on the back of the board. These features provide more lift in powder.
Blunt Nose: the blunt nose provides the lift benefits of a longer nose without the rounded shape and extra weight.
Bolt-less Bridge : reducing the components of the link box and therefore reducing weight. In addition, the skis are more closely bonded, improving torsional rigidity.
Inside & Outside Traction Tech 1.0 : Strategically placed corrugated edges to counteract the negative effect of the rocker and increase edge grip on the snow.
Progressive Sidecut : The radius at the ends of the sidecut is slightly increased as the edge reaches the contact points. This larger radius ensures a smoother ride when entering and exiting turns.
Technology :
- Forever Flex: A manufacturing process that durably stabilizes the flex and rocker profile of the board.
- Control Split Core : Double density wood core: poplar and paulownia. Lightweight and shock absorbing design adapted to the specificities of splitboards
- Biax Fiberglass: a dual-directional fibreglass laminate for a precise and responsive board, whatever the terrain and snow conditions.
- Stainless Steel Reinforcement: Stainless steel plates are on the board's nose and tail.
- Eco-Plastic Topsheet : Topsheet made from castor beans. This environmentally friendly material is ultra-light, chip and scratch resistant and repels water and snow (snow sticks less to the topsheet).
- Sintered 8000 base : Sole made of UHMW-PE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) and carbon. Extremely easy to repair, it also offers maximum glide properties.
- Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0 with Tip-Lock : Jones splitboards have Karakoram clips as well as hooks on the nose and tail. These tension-adjustable K-clips improve the board's torsional rigidity.
- Recycled ABS : - The ABS plastics in Jones boards are made from recycled plastic.
- Wend Natural Wax: Waxed with natural Wend wax, Jones boards are ready to use straight from the factory.
- Bio Resin: All Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy.
- Flip-Flop; to minimise waste during the manufacturing process. Two base colours available that are delivered randomly.
La Storm Chaser Split est une planche de conditions particulières où la poudreuse doit être présente et dans des quantités minimum requises! Très joueuse de part son gabarit réduit, la Storm Chaser Split est une planche de poudreuse qui atteint des vitesses folles lorsque la pente est bien raide et qui déjauge vraiment toute seule.
Avec un gabarit ramassé, la Storm Chaser Split est facile à la montée mais peut manquer d'accroche si l'on doit s'engager dans une traversée sur neige gelée. Faisant partie de cette nouvelle génération des planches très courtes de freeride, la Storm Chaser Split est une planche exclusivement faite pour les grosses conditions d'enneigement. Son cambre plat et les deux rockers sont très prononcés, c'est pourquoi l'Inside & Outside Traction Tech 1.0 apporte une minimum d'accroche lorsque vous quittez la poudreuse.
Les Plus : noyau en bambou, très joueuse et maniable.
Les Moins : les powders turns seront trop facile à faire!
