The Special Effects is a men's freeride snowboard from K2 Snowboard.
There are more and more boards with this old-school shape and it's not for no reason! Short in length thanks to the Volume Shift™, greater size in nose/tail and swallow tail; this has become the staple for going for fresh powder.
Designed with a Bambooyah™ Core, the Special Effects has all the responsiveness that can be found in bamboo wood. In addition to being (almost) indestructible, this wood offers a very impressive weight/performance ratio. Lined with the carbon strips of the ICG™ 10 Biax Carbon Glasstopsheet, this makes the board extremely manoeuvrable, significantly increasing its robustness.
The Special Effects features a flat camber with a pronounced rocker in the nose, the Directional Rocker. Exemplary flotation The reduced tail and swallowtail will allow you to link turns in the forest and always keep an outstanding precision.
This board is already a classic in the freeride/deep section of K2 and we haven't told you about the 3D Contour Noseyet. It not only deflects snow to maintain excellent float, but also allows you to initiate your turns with greater ease.

Camber - Directional Rocker : An all-purpose profile designed to be the ideal companion for all-terrain snowboarders. The directional rocker profile has a medium-sized rocker in the nose, flat in the middle of the board and a low rocker in the tail, allowing effortless turns on hard snow and sufficient float in soft snow.
Shape - Directional: The directional shape is a classic snowboard shape, designed with a nose that is slightly longer than the tail to concentrate the pop at the tail while providing plenty of float, flow and control on all terrain and in all conditions.
Core - Bambooyah™ Core: Inspired by skateboard manufacturing, the Bambooyah™ mixed core is stronger than anything! Bamboo has a higher tensile strength than steel and better compression resistance than concrete, which is why these boards come with a five-year guarantee.
Topsheet - ICG™ 10 Biax Carbon Glass: Smooth all-purpose performance with a no-frills design. The fibres are woven together at 0° and 90°, creating a more forgiving bending pattern.. In addition, the Biax Glass 10 carbon strips increase the pop, liveliness and longevity of the snowboard without adding unnecessary stiffness.
Base - Sintered 4000 : The Sintered 4000 base absorbs wax deeply for a relentless glide and unmatched durability.
Base - 3D Contour Nose : Special 3 mm nose shape to deflect soft snow and help turn initiation while improving grip on hard snow.
2x4 Inserts They increase the number of options for positioning your bindings in an optimal way.
Technology:
Volume Shift™ Shape : The volume of the board normally located on the tail and nose is moved below the feet. The result is a wider, shorter board for increased manoeuvrability and more aggressive riding. The stability and buoyancy of the latter remain unchanged.
