The Sir Francis Bacon are men's freeride backcountry skis for advanced skiers. It's the most well-known and best-selling model from Line. For over 10 years now, the engineers at Line have continued to impress us with this model, which they improve almost every year.
The latest innovation is the addition of Convex Base technology, a convex base that significantly improves glide and lift in powder. This allows you to soar above the snow with exceptional ease and manoeuvrability. Of course, this does not detract from its on-piste performance.
Its Symmetric Flex provides a very smooth ride, both in switch mode and regular mode, and the skis perform just as you'd expect them to, allowing you to very quickly feel at ease with the Sir Francis Bacon at your feet.
Its wooden core and Partly Cloudy construction offer sturdiness for stability in all types of snow. The tip and tail Rockers offer good manoeuvrability and excellent take-off abilities. With a pretty short curve radius of 16m and 5Cut technology by Line, they are very lively and ensure great grip on all surfaces. The lightness and well-measured flex of the skis make turning extremely easy indeed.
The Sir Francis Bacon from Line is therefore a versatile, high-performance ski that will really shine when you go off the beaten track!

Pair weight: 3700g
Technologies:
Sidewall:
Ultra-high-density polyethylene walls at the edges absorb vibration for maximum durability, giving a feeling of softness and stability.
Partly Cloudy
A light wood mix that creates the best strength-to-weight ratio.
Fatty Base & Edge
30% thicker edges and base for better durability.
Early Rise
The rise of the tip and tail starts sooner as the skis' profile moves away from the centre, making turning easier and helping to keep the skis stable. It also means effortless float in softer snow!
Early Taper:
The widest tip and tail point is positioned earlier on the ski to reduce friction on the snow and offer more manoeuvrability.
Thin Tip
The core has been lightened and the edges thinned out.
Symmetrical Flex
An identical Flex at the front and back of the bindings for the same standard of performance for both regular skiing and when you ski switch.
5-Cut
5 different curve radiuses for a more intuitive and agile pair of skis.
Convex Base:
The convex shape at the tip and tail raises the side edges, reducing the contact surface with the snow for easier movement and rotation in heavy conditions.
In the words of Eric Pollard: "I spent years in search of a certain feeling, something never experienced before, which would fundamentally change the way the ski slides". The Convex Base is exactly what we were searching for! "
