The Backland 100 are a touring skis for men from Atomic. Real freetouring skis with a 100mm waist which will allow you to have fun on descents while staying light on ascents.
The Backland range's success comes from its perfect adaptation to both aspects of ski touring. The Ultra Light Woodcore makes the skis extremely light for ascents and extremely stable for descents. They perform just as well on packed snow as in powder.
This model is exactly halfway between a freeride ski and a touring ski, it can tackle powder, choppy snow and even packed snow. The skis feature a Horizon Tech spoon-shaped tip, which provides you with perfect performance in powder snow and makes it even lighter and easier to ski off-piste, even on crusty snow.
The Cap Sidewall construction guarantees ideal power transmission and excellent grip on all types of terrain and the tip rocker makes riding easy on all types of snow. They include a carbon insert that reinforces the structure of the skis without weighing them down. Pre-cut skins are also available for this type of skis.
Backland 100 are really made for freetouring lovers looking for light and wide skis that adapt to all conditions.

Construction:
- Ultra Light Woodcore: This core combines the strength of beech and the lightness of poplar to provide our racing skis with phenomenal stability and agility.
- Dura Cap Sidewall: Sole edges are placed on top of the ski for controlled power transmission and excellent grip on the edges. The rounded shape of the Dura Cap edges is a fantastic durable feature as it takes fewer bumps and knocks.
Shape:
- All Mountain Rocker: 15% tip rocker / 85% classic camber: tip rocker that erases the irregularities of the terrain and makes it easier to enter curves.
Technologies:
- HZRN Tech: the ABS construction combined with a ground breaking rocker design increases the surface of the tip and tail by 10%. It reduces tip deflection for better control on packed and choppy snow without changing turning inertia.
- Carbon Backbone: ultra-light carbon insert that acts as a stabiliser along the entire length of the ski for better agility and exceptional grip without weighing the ski down.
- Fiberglass: The full-length fiberglass layers allow the ski to be smooth and stable while remaining light and dynamic.
