Product not eligible for returnAs you don't change a winning team, Jones is once again presenting his aptly named Mountain Twinfor the 2021 season, a men's snowboard for intermediate to advanced riders.
For your enjoyment, the Mountain Twin is equipped with the Mountain Core which has bamboo reinforcements placed along the edges to give more pop to the board and ensure a more durable flex. What's more, the Mountain Twin has an eco-friendly topsheet made from recycled plastic!
The Mountain Twin's twin-player shape makes the board ideal for freestyle use: park, pipe... While its rigidity (7/10), classic camber, and Traction Tech 3.0 undulating edges provide the bite and control needed to make sharp and precise turns.
The Mountain Twin is a board for intermediate to advanced riders who want a versatile board with a very playful character to be able to throw some tricks on both the park kickers and the snowy pillows!
Warning: In an effort to reduce waste, Jones randomly produces the base colours by inverting graphics and backgrounds.
- Camber: CamRock : classic camber with rocker for greater float and grip in all snow conditions. Loooong in nose and tip rockers for a huge increase in playfulness and handling. The Camrock considerably improves freestyle performance and powder lift. Certainly the best camber ever produced!
- Shape :
- Directional Twin: symmetrical shape for ultra-nimble handling. Allows for easy switch riding.
- Twin Flex pattern
- Blunt Nose: a rounded nose improves the glide and reduces the grip of the snow and therefore reduces the "snow plough" effect with the nose.
- V-core
- Traction tech 3.0 : The undulating edges offer an edge grip with multiple contact points along the length of the board. This technology offsets the edge drift of the rocker, so that you can firmly lock into any moves.
- Progressive Sidecut: The radius at the ends of the sidecut is slightly increased as the edge reaches the contact points. This larger radius ensures a smoother ride when entering and exiting turns.
- Flex: 7/10, stiff flex
- Core: F SC™ Control Core : Dual density wooden core with paulownia hardwood slats for more pop and strength.
- Topsheet:
- Biax Fiberglass : a fibreglass layer applied in 2 directions and 2 thicknesses for a precise board that offers a fun and lively riding style.
- ECO-Plastic TopSheet : recycled plastic obtained from the Ricin plant. This eco-friendly material is ultra-light, scratch-resistant and water-repellent to prevent snow from sticking to the topsheet.
- Sole:
- Sintered 8000 base: base made from UHMW-PE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) and carbon. Extremely easy to repair, with maximum acceleration and glide.
- Flip-Flop base: to minimise waste during the manufacturing process. Two base colours available, delivered randomly according to stock.
Technologies :
- Oversized Recycled Edges : edges made of recycled steel.
- Recycled Rounded ABS : The ABS plastics in Jones boards are made from recycled plastic.
- Wend Natural Wax : ready to use as soon as they leave the factory, Jones snowboards are already waxed with Wend Natural Wax.
- Super Sap Bio Resin : all Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy. The raw materials used to make Super Sap Bio-Resin are co-products or waste products of other plant-based industrial processes. Producing Super Sap requires 33% less greenhouse gas emissions than traditional epoxy.
The Mountain Twin resembles the Ultra Mountain Twin in its capabilities but slightly less incisive than its big sister. The Mountain Twin is more flexible in torsion than the Ultra version which makes it more pleasant on the landings which can sometimes be a little harsh.
Like the majority of Jones boards, the Mountain Twin has a classic camber that allows you to maintain control even in the most difficult snow. Well centred on the stance, the board is as stable in the air as it is on snow. The Mountain Twin is an excellent all-purpose board that is a little less radical than its big sister the UltraMountain Twin
Advantages : versatility, manoeuvrability and stable.
