The Gea is a women's ski touring boot made by Scarpa.
This renowned model from Scarpa returns this year in its version 2.0 with the same plus points, namely lighter weight and improved clearance and skiability.
Featuring all the technologies of the RS version (except carbon), it is designed for ski tourers looking for comfort and versatility without compromising on performance. This boot is aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers who want a boot that offers good sensations both uphill and downhill.
The Gea features a full Pebax shell for a lightweight boot with very good skiability. Its construction allows you to save weight by reducing the amount of material where it is not essential.
The release system is very straightforward and provides up to 60° of total clearance (46° towards the back, 14° towards the front) for tremendous freedom of movement when walking.
The Intuition Cross Fit Pro offers high-quality comfort and fit, with an extra-thick tongue, carefully crafted backwards flex, and slick lycra at the top of the shoe back to make it easier to slip the shoe on and off.
The Vibram® Cayman Pro Sole provides outstanding ruggedness as well as good traction when you have your skis on your bag while you look for a serious corridor.
The Finger Strap, just like Thor Buckle buckles, is often easier to manipulate than standard buckles and straps because you don't need to take off your gloves in cold conditions. Not only is it practical, but it's less cumbersome!
Naturally the Scarpa Gea has Low Tech inserts in the ends to go with the most lightweight touring bindings, but is also compatible with ISO 9523 standard bindings.
The real asset to the GEA this year is the Recco technology that has been incorporated. Increase your chances of survival if you get trapped during an avalanche thanks to the Recco transmitter.
This boot is the little sister of the legendary Maestrale men's version and shares all the same features.
