The Family Tree collection is a snowboard range developed by Burton which aims to create freeride snowboards with innovative shapes and characteristics.
New for the 2022/2023 season at Burton, the men's and women's Forager is making its début appearance and is aimed at advanced freeriders. This very playful board has been designed for big powder days.
The Forager has a wooden Dragonfly 600G core, which makes it lighter and increases strength for maximum stability in deep turns, this stability is further enhanced by the swallow tail. Its Directional camber initiates powerful and precise turns, whatever the terrain. Its big rocker and directional shape provide plenty of lift in powder.
Its directional Flex offers more rigidity in the tail and more manoeuvrability at the front of the board, allowing you to keep maximum control and make your best turns. A carbon layer along the entire length of the board reinforces this rigidity to create a very aggressive board with impulsive reactivity.
In short, the Forager is a freeride board that delivers irresistible powder performance.

Flex : 5.5 - Directional : A more dynamic tail and a more flexible nose which allows the rider to maintain control on all terrains, in all conditions.
Camber:
Directional camber : The directional camber profile has camber under both feet for optimal stability in deep turns and variable conditions, and a Rocker nose which provides height and better floatation
Shape:
Directional (taper 20mm): The directional Freeride shape features a camber and sidecut centered around your stance to create a freestyle twin stance when riding flat base. On edge, it turns quickly and tightly with the float and skill of a directional board.
Materials/Technologies :
Core - FSC™ Certified Dragonfly™ 600G Core with Multizone EGD™ and Squeezebox : TheDragonfly 600G core with multi-zone EGD features end-grain woods in the impact zones for lighter weight without loss of strength. The Squeezebox construction involves thickening and thinning sections of the board's profile around and between the bindings to improve energy transfer. Lighter but equally resistant wood species make it possible to lighten the board while maintaining its strength. Multizone EGD™ construction involves arranging the wood fibres of the core perpendicular to the rest of the core at the support zones for better edge control and power transmission.
fibreglass -45° Carbon Highlights: The Carbon Highlights 45° fibreglass construction optimizes each layer of the fibreglass matrix and adds an integral carbon coating to reduce weight and refine torsion feel.
Base - Sintered WFO : features a specially formulated wax that is infused deep into the pores of this extra-absorbent, high-density material, making it extremely durable for riding all season long in any conditions.
The Channel® : The Channel® snowboard mounting system is designed to allow you to find the perfect position, and is compatible with major brands' bindings.
Pro-Tip™: the nose and tail are thinner than the rest of the board, for a lighter weight and improved handling.
Infinite Ride™: this technology ensures that the snowboard retains its initial flex, pop and other characteristics throughout its lifespan.
Epoxy Super Sap®: Super Sap® is a resin made from biological materials that reduces the carbon footprint by 50% compared to conventional petroleum-based epoxies. Reduced oil consumption means a smaller carbon footprint for every snowboard, which definitely works in our favour.
