The Explorer is a splitboard binding from Union. This new version of the Expedition has the same features that made it so successful.
The Explorer model from Union is ideal for advanced to expert level riders wishing to discover or rediscover mountain and ride down the most remote slopes! With its minimalist design, it is an ideal compromise between lightness and performance.
The Explorer is very practical to use and can be easily put up on the 4x2 inserts of your splitboard. The Duraflex CB SP2 baseplate is rigid and ensures ideal foot support . The new Exoframe 4.0 and TS-2.0 HexGrip W/Pin straps reduce pressure points at the ankle and toe, while maintaining optimal support.
The central pin system enables you to fix the binding from the centre in downhill mode and to ensure pivoting in walking mode. To make walking with skis easier, the spoiler can be positioned vertically to make lengthening your stride easier. The heel cup is directly integrated into the baseplate and can be more easily positioned to make walking on steeper slopes easier.
To offer you even more comfort than the Expedition, the spoiler displacement in walking mode has been further increased to make climbing even easier, while modifications to the Gas pedal ensure a similar downhill experience to that you would get with a conventional binding.
So the Explorerwill accompany you to reach summits, and allow you to make most of the ride once in descent mode!
Supplied with all the up and down mountings (additional disk, split strap).
