The Cirque 84 is a touring ski by Black Diamond.
The Cirque range is the lightest range of touring skis at Black Diamond.
In order to achieve this result, the ski has a wooden core made of Paulownia. Reinforcement consists of high-strength carbon fibre combined with a reduced amount of strategically placed fibreglass to ensure the ski is lightweight. The latter allows the ski to maintain torsional rigidity to be sufficiently stiff and stable in the most tricky areas. The ski also has a partial ABS edge, which offers maximised cushioning in hard snow while keeping weight to a minimum.
For softer snow, the ski has a rocker at the front and a semi rocker at the back to make it easier to lift despite a relatively narrow waist.
At the front of the ski you will find a notched tip compatible with the majority of skin fitting systems, especially those with a tensioner at the front so that you can easily remove the skin without having to take the ski off.
So you will have understood by now that this is a light touring ski, ideal for those who like to move quickly with a minimum weight on the mountain.
Wider than its brother Cirque 78, it will be chosen for its versatility and slightly superior downhill qualities.

- 84 mm all-purpose waist with all-snow rocker in tip and heel
- High-strength unidirectional carbon fibre structure combined with a reduced but strategic amount of fibreglass to achieve greater strength. The ideal ski structure for those who prefer minimalism and fast travel with skins.
- Paulownia wood core
- 5 mm partial ABS bevelled edges with semi-cap construction. The ABS edges are positioned only under the foot, an area that is more subject to impact and where they provide the most effective cushioning.
- ABS heel protector with notch for skins
- Titanal mounting plate
- Notched tip compatible with many skin fitting systems
- Optimal use : 30 % soft snow / 70 % hard snow
Side cuts:
157cm: 112-84-102; Radius : 17.5m
164cm: 114-84-103; Radius : 18.5m
171cm: 115-84-104; Radius : 19.5m
178cm : 117-84-105; Radius : 20,5 mm
This is a very good, light and high performance ski for touring. Its lightweight construction with little fibreglass makes it super pleasant to ride, 2,07kg per 170cm pair, it is very close to the lightest racing skis on the market.
Nevertheless, on the descent, it works well. ABS edges absorb shocks on hard snow, your legs will thank you! The carbon structure ensures torsional rigidity and precise edge grip. Light and responsive, the ski pivots well which quickly gives us confidence. You can safely do jumpy turns one after the other without missing a beat!
Advantages: stability, grip, responsiveness
Disadvantages: none in its program
