Locking system -
The Ohm II Violet is a locking system from the brand Edelrid, attached upstream to the first piton on the Safety chain.
This is a system developed by Edelrid that prevents the Belayer from being thrown into the air when the weight difference with the Climber is too great. Here is the second version of the Ohm, with some improvements to make it easier to use.
It therefore compensates for the difference in weight between the lighter Belayer and the heavier Climber. The Ohm II attaches to the first Quickdraw, allowing you to slow down gradually in the event of a fall, independently of the belay device. The risk of collision is therefore reduced.

- Much less force required on the part of the Belayer in the event of a fall
- Descent of a heavier climber much easier to control
- Installs on the first peak of the Safety chain
- In the event of a fall at the first peak, the device reduces the risk of a possible fall on the Deck.
- No handling limitations for the lead climber (no friction when the Belayer gives slack)
- Increases the Belayer's weight by 25 kg
- Compatible with carabiners with EN 12275 and EN362
Minimum weight of the insurer: 40 kg
Compatible rope diameter: 8.9–11 mm
Composition :
- Body: Aluminium, Steel
