It is a dynamic rope with a diameter of 8.9 mm that has undergone a Dry treatment. This model features the Pro Dry treatment, which makes it resistant to water and impurities. This rope has a water absorption of less than 2% acc. to the UIAA Water Repellent Test.
The Thermo Shield technology featured in the Swift Protect Pro Dry 8.9 Mm makes the rope more flexible and easier to handle. This rope has a higher sheath content and aramid composition, to make a rope with superior resistance. This composition makes the rope more robust and cut-resistant, such as when going over sharp edges.
This versatile model can be used as a single, half or twin rope.

- Thermo Shield Treatment This is the basic treatment that is applied to all the brand's ropes to ensure they have the renowned EDELRID suppleness. The treatment involves a thermal process that perfectly aligns the core and sheath yarns. A special heat treatment relaxes and then shrinks the rope fibres. This harmonises the gliding characteristics of the yarns inside the rope, making it supple and compact. The result is the creation of strings that will not shrink in retrospect nor stiffen quickly.

The marking on the rope as well as a detailed description on the packaging additionally ensure that you do things right and can use the full potential of the rope without annoying twisting and tangling.

- Pro Dry: Pro Dry ropes are particularly quick-drying, absorb virtually no water and are frost-resistant in cold weather. Due to their minimal water absorption (1-2%) in accordance with the UIAA waterproofing test, the Pro Dry ropes hardly increase in weight. As such, they continue to function well and offer high safety reserves even in wet conditions.
- Cut Protect: This means that high strength aramid fibres are braided into the rope sheath. Compared to polyamide, aramid has a significantly higher cut resistance.
