Designed to climb the highest peaks in the world, the Phantom 8000 Thermic HD is the flagship of the Italian brand in terms of performance and warmth in the most extreme icy conditions.
The outer shell as well as the integrated gaiter feature a H-Dry waterproof and breathable membrane combined with S-Tech Shoeller stretch fabric. Insulation is provided by a layer of aluminium which retains heat better, as well as by a thickness of cork combined with EVA foam. The liner is also composed of multiple layers ensuring the best possible insulation: it includes PrimaLoft®, the most efficient thermal insulation on the market, and an insulator made of EVA and a 5 mm thick layer of cork.
On the practical side, the Sock-Fit XT technology and the waterproof zip allow for a full opening of the boot for easy putting on, like a sock, even with gloves.
The insole Carbon Tech 3 SL is made of EVA foam providing cushioning and comfort. An insulating Aerogel® layer completes the insulation. Carbon fibres add rigidity and precision at crucial moments, not to mention the weight savings achieved. As for the outsole, Scarpa has partnered with Vibram® and its Gravity Lite sole to equip the Phantom 8000 Thermic HD: it is a lightweight and robust sole that guarantees excellent precision.
The Phantom 8000 Thermic HD is compatible with the use of automatic and semi-automatic crampons to confidently tackle the most difficult sections, and a full rock guard is also present for maximum protection in rocky passages.
