| EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) |
A EVA sole is a plastic sole, which can be lighter and more flexible than rubber. EVA stands for Ethylene Vinyl Acetate. It is an elastomeric polymer that produces "rubbery" materials, due to its softness and flexibility. This plastic is made by combining ethylene and vinyl acetate to create rubber-like properties that can be used for shoe soles. |
| AMAZONIAN RUBBER |
Each VEJA sole is made of 20-30% rubber from the Amazon rainforest. The seringueiros (rubber tappers) are paid according to fair trade principles. The use of this Amazon rubber increases the economic value of the forest and protects it from deforestation |
| PeBax® Rnew® |
Unlike traditional petroleum-based polymers, Pebax® Rnew® polymers are advanced materials made from a renewable raw material: castor beans. More than 65% of the Pebax® Rnew® materials used in ski boots are bio-based. Castor is a remarkable plant: it grows on marginal soils, does not cause deforestation, does not compete with food products and captures atmospheric CO2. In addition, it provides a stable income for farming families. Every shoe made from Pebax® Rnew® materials helps to improve the lives of farmers and their families. UNRIVALLED PERFORMANCE The organic origin of the material does not compromise performance. Polymers Pebax® Rnew®, designed for top-of-the-range sports equipment, are a world-leading technology. Pebax® Rnew® polymers are generally 20% lighter than most other plastics, offering maximum comfort. They also offer extreme strength and impact resistance for improved durability and service life. |
