A process in which each sheath fibre of the ropes is treated, prior to rope manufacture, with a chemical compound that improves abrasion resistance and is also hydrophobic. This chemical compound is polymerised at high temperature. The durability of this treatment is due not only to polymerisation but also to the individual treatment of each sheath filament prior to the manufacture of the rope. |
