Classic mountaineering ice axe -
The ice axe
The steel blade has been hot forged in a single piece in Italy's Valle d'Aosta region, making it highly resistant to wear and tear and giving it greater inertia for planting its bevelled tip in the ice.
What's more, the slightly curved handle is ideal as a walking stick for glacier trekking or as a grip for mountaineering. This makes it the perfect technical tool for cutting your way through blocks of ice by carving steps in the snow using the steel purlin and spike, in complete safety.
