Scott was the first brand in 1958 to invent the aluminium pole. The brand was founded by a skier from Idaho. Scott then quickly established itself as market leader in technical ski products. In the 1970s, the brand entered a new market - motocross - with glasses and boots. The brand moved to Fribourg, Switzerland in 1978. Scott has diversified its product ranges and is now one of the biggest outdoor equipment brands.
