    Detailed description

The Ultra Pro is a men's trail running shoe from Salomon.

Boasting numerous technical features, this shoe benefits from a completely reworked SensiFit® and Endofit® tightening system! With their integrated floating wings on the outside of the foot, the Ultra Pro's will be able to adapt to the shape of your foot as it changes over time.

Their Energy Save midsole both protects the forefoot from debris but also provides better, long-lasting rebound and cushioning that's as reactive after 100km as it was on their first use!

The Premium Wet Traction Contragrip® sole provides excellent grip on slippery or uneven terrain, while the 3D Stretch Air Mesh fabric on the upper is breathable and quick-drying.

The Ultra Pro like the S/Lab Ultra, puts protection and ground feel first, producing a shoe able to withstand heavy or long-term use without budging.

The Ultra Pro is therefore ideal for long-distance runners, both during training and competitions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long distance comfort I have about 10 pairs of trail shoes (all Salomon) in my closet and if I’m running over 20 miles I prefer the Ultra Pro. They run slightly big which is great for ultra distances to allow room for your feet to swell. As much as I’d love to be a forefoot striker, I’m not and these shoes are great for those that midfoot strike. They drain well, are light and offer fantastic grip on every type of terrain. So far I have used them on a couple 50 mile races and never had a blister. If you’re looking for a long distance shoe with plenty of cushion that you can still run fast in, check out the Ultra Pro.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the best design. Splitting issue resurfaces I have always worn salomon trainers for mountain / fell running because I love the way they feel but having stuck with the SG softground despite the notorious uppers splitting across tops and sides after a very short time they seemed to have resolved this issue by the sg6 version.the soles of the sg7 was so dangerously slippy presumably attempting to reduce the previously rapid wear that I changed to the ultra pro trainers which although heavier than the sense sg6/7 are nice to run in BUT 200 miles in and the sides at the front have split like the old salomon SG did so I am not impressed. I loved the sg 6 sense but none left. The sg7 by being lighter than the 6 let in so much water they end up weighing more than the 6 . Not sure what to buy next but it will have to be salomon I guess

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compare and contrast I bought these shoes and a pair of Inoveight terra ultras around the same. Wanted to check out them out. All in all pretty much same performance. That said I usually wear Inoveight same am more used to them. The Ultrapros nice and comfortable on longer trail runs. The lacing system is great On rougher trails the uppers were a little stiff for my liking so felt like you were working against the ground. Personal preference though shoes are pretty goid. Am used to more grip but these aren’t designed for muddy trails etc overall when comparing both types have been using them equally. Will be interesting to see how they go in an Ultra trail race.
