Softshell jacket: advantages when skiing

A softshell jacket is a warm windcheater. It is especially useful when skiing, snowboarding or doing any other outdoor activity. As this type of snow jacket is water-repellent, it will also shield you against moderately inclement weather. What’s more, women’s softshells are particularly comfortable to wear and provide good aeration. This makes them ideal for leisure skiing, hiking or any other low-level exertion in cold weather. However, a softshell is not really suitable for intense exertion because it has a less efficient system for allowing perspiration to escape than a fleece, for example. Besides, a softshell is not waterproof and so won’t protect you from bad weather.

How do you choose your snow jacket or softshell?

A softshell is a real joy to wear when used in optimum conditions. There are several criteria to take into consideration in choosing the right snow jacket for you. Does it have a hood? Does it fit your body type? Does it allow you freedom of movement? Does it have zips? You should ask yourself all these questions so that you pick the softshell ski jacket best suited to your requirements and activities.
