The basalt stringers and Triax Carbon / Innegra reinforcements stiffen the board during twists and stabilise the rather wide nose. Once launched, the Ultra Mind Expander is like a fireball! Capable of taking you to crazy speeds, Jones has come up with the Ultra Mind Expander, with a Christenson Surf Rocker camber. The latter offers impeccable powder lift and playfulness. The Traction Tech 3.0 corrugated edges complete this flawless grip.
Blending the expanded shape of the Mind Expander with the camber of a Hovercraft, theUltra Mind Expander is a little gem in the powder snow that works in all types of snow.

- Cambre: Christenson Surf camber Rocker : nose and tail rocker designed by shaper Chris Christenson. Very long rocker that starts at the front and rear inserts.
Shape :
- Directional : classic shape with the nose slightly longer than the tail for float on unpacked snow.
- Directional Flex pattern
- Blunt Nose : a curved nose improves the glide and reduces the grip of the snow and therefore reduces the "ploughing" effect of the nose.
- V-core
- Traction Tech 3.0 : The undulating edges offer an edge grip with multiple contact points along the length of the board. This technology offsets the edge drift of the rocker, so that you can firmly lock into any moves.
- Progressive Sidecut : The radius at the ends of the sidecut is slightly increased as the edge reaches the contact points. This larger radius ensures a smoother ride when entering and exiting turns.
- Flex: 8/10 Stiff flex.
- Core
FSC™ Power Core : Triple density core: ash and paulownia wood with bamboo stringers for better pop and a longer lifespan.
FSC Ash Veneer : that reduces vibration and distributes flex evenly.
Power Sustainable Basalt Stringers : stringers en basalte 100% naturels. Each support becomes more powerful and the torsional stiffness of the board is improved.
- Topsheet:
Triax Fiberglass : double layer of fibreglass applied in both directions for a fun board that forgives small mistakes.
Triax Carbon / innegra Reinforcement : A fine, diamond pattern composite carbon layer for added cushioning along the core.
- Sole: Sintered 9900 base : base made from UHMW-PE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) and carbon. Extremely easy to repair, with maximum acceleration and glide.
- Technologies:
- Ultra Construction Jones Ultra Construction takes the original version of the board and makes improvements in materials and construction to optimise each element. Ultra boards are lighter and stronger.
- Oversized Recycled Edges : edges made of recycled steel.
- Recycled rounded ABS : as with all Jones boards, only recycled ABS plastic is used.
- Wend Natural Wax : ready to use as soon as they leave the factory, Jones snowboards are already waxed with Wend Natural Wax.
TheUltra Mind Expander is a charging board! Completely different to the Mind Expander, theUltra Mind Expander is versatile to any any test. Despite wanting to primarily be on powder, the Ultra Mind Expander knows what to do on the piste! The behaviour is therefore serene and stable.
TheUltra Mind Expander is twitchy and rigid and requires good thighs to contain its energy. TheUltra Mind Expander is reactive and starts with a quarter turn.
Advantages : responsiveness, edge retention and power.
Disadvantages : energy guzzler!
