Description

The Mind Expander is an all-mountain snowboard, designed for intermediate to advanced riders.

The Mind Expander sums up Jones's innovative, avant-guard approach: to open the mind and explore new horizons!

Jones has upgraded the Mind Expander this year by adding carbon reinforcements that ensure this board meets all demands. Carbon Web Fused technology eliminates nose vibration for a smoother ride. The Mind Expander is therefore more precise and drives like crazy!

The Mind Expander stands out from the snowboard crowd thanks to its special camber. With its Christenson Surf Rocker this monster also had input from Jeremy Jones. The flat camber combined with a very long rocker, gives the Mind Expander an incomparable float on powder.

With a central stance, perfectly proportioned tail edge and unique camber, the Mind Expander is agile and easily able to handle rotations and powder turns. Inspired by the Hovercraft for its freeride side, and the freestyle capacity of the Mountain Twin, the Mind Expander lets you mix styles and desires With a medium/stiff flex, the Mind Expander can be tempted by every jib.

With its surfing vibe, the Mind Expander guarantees a floaty pure power ride where you can let your imagination run wild with every trick.

Please note: In an effort to reduce waste, Jones randomly produces the base colours by inverting graphics and backgrounds.

Other features

- Camber: Christenson Surf Camber Rocker : nose and tail rocker designed by shaper Chris Christenson. Very long rocker that starts at the front and rear inserts.

- Shape:
- Directional : classic shape with the nose slightly longer than the tail for float on unpacked snow.
- Directional Flex pattern
- Blunt Nose: a rounded nose improves the glide and reduces the grip of the snow and therefore reduces the "snow plough" effect with the nose.
- V-core
- Traction tech 2.0 : The undulating edges offer an edge grip with multiple contact points along the length of the board. This technology offsets the edge drift of the rocker, so that you can firmly lock into any moves.
- Progressive Sidecut: The radius at the ends of the sidecut is slightly increased as the edge reaches the contact points. This larger radius ensures a smoother ride when entering and exiting turns.

- Flex6/10, Medium/stiff flex

- Core:
- FSC Surf Core : Triple-layer bamboo strips along the edges for better reactivity and more powerful turns.
- Web Fused Carbon Reinforcement : Stringers adapted according to their place on the core. The central stringers are wider than the end ones. They're adapted to the board's shape and function. Specific to "surf collection" boards, these strips are there mainly to reduce the vibrations of the nose.

- Topsheet:
- ECO-Plastic TopSheet : recycled plastic obtained from the Ricin plant. This eco-friendly material is ultra-light, scratch-resistant and water-repellent to prevent snow from sticking to the topsheet.
 - Biax Fibreglass  : double layer of fibreglass applied in both directions for a fun board that forgives small mistakes.

- Sole:
- Sintered 8000 base: base made from UHMW-PE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) and carbon. Extremely easy to repair, with maximum acceleration and glide.
- Flip-Flop base: to minimise waste during the manufacturing process. Two base colours available, delivered randomly according to stock.

Technologies :
Oversized Recycled Edges : edges made of recycled steel.
Recycled Rounded ABS : The ABS plastics in Jones boards are made from recycled plastic.
Wend Natural Wax : ready to use as soon as they leave the factory, Jones snowboards are already waxed with Wend Natural Wax.
Super Sap Bio Resin : all Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy. The raw materials used to make Super Sap Bio-Resin are co-products or waste products of other plant-based industrial processes. Producing Super Sap requires 33% less greenhouse gas emissions than traditional epoxy.

Team review

The Mind Expander is the pen you need to record your best riding sessions on these white pages of powder! The gigantic rocker of this new camber brings the board out of the depths of the powder without requiring any effort from the rider. This flat camber, with its inverted edges, only needs to be rotated as soon as the opportunity arises and makes the board very playful.

But this camber still limits the board's grip when the snow gets harder. So you have to slow down the pace so you don't lose control. Like any board that wants to be versatile in its programme, the Mind Expander concedes some small disadvantages to offer some very good positives.

Advantages : accessibility and float in powder.

Disadvantages: reduced grip in rough snow
