Description

Indispensable for picnics or camping, the Opinel T8 Engraved Tradition Stag Knife is also useful for small everyday tasks.

The handle is made of varnished oak wood to protect it from moisture and dirt. The wood is hard and very resistant, especially to insects and fungi, thanks to its high tannin content.
The thin and robust Yatagan blade is made of modified Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel , known for its sharpness and ease of maintenance.
This model is equipped with the Virobloc double safety system, allowing the blade to be locked in the open or closed position.
The iconic T8 model is adorned with an exclusive engraving, a nod to forest lovers and hunting enthusiasts.

These advantages offer excellent cutting quality, high corrosion resistance and safety in use, in a model with character, for yourself or as a gift.

Sandvik stainless steel

The Sandvik modified 12C27 stainless steel developed for Opinel is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel that can undergo the heat treatment that gives it its hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40% giving the blade sharpness and corrosion resistance.

Yatagan Blade

The traditional blade of the Opinel is called Yatagan. Its shape is inspired by a Turkish sword with a raised tip. The blade is ground to an exclusive cambered profile which guarantees the strength of the blade and allows for efficient resharpening.

Virobloc safety ring

Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all closing knives from N°06 onwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed and a sliding part. This system allows the blade to be locked in the open position (safety in use), or closed (safety in transport).
