The Bakan is a ZAG ski. This is the widest men's freerando ski in the range and clearly designed for intense conditions! If you like freeride and hate the crowds and mechanical ascents but love the downhill after the effort of climbing then this is the ski for you!
Part of the Ubac range, the Bakan was created with an ultra-light construction to preserve maximum strength for that downhill you've worked so hard for! To achieve a weight of just 3 kg per pair, the Chamonix brand has used it CAPZTH Technology Hybrid Carbon Glass construction. In simple terms, there is a paulownia wood core known for its lightweight performance, along with multiaxial carbon and fibreglass to make the whole thing stronger and more dynamic. Combine that with straight sidewalls and ABS for faultless grip on all terrains, a sintered sole for more speed, HR edges for increased durability on impact and phenol reinforcement and you've got the perfect ski both on the ascent and descent!
As for shape, the Bakan is designed with a weak camber, for good skiability even on the most difficult snow conditions. There's also a progressive double rocker which improves handling when turning and buoyancy when mother nature has been generous with us. A real machine for skiers who really want to enjoy the descent! With its generous sidecut and an average turning arc, it's both playful and stable at speed, and it won't go under even if you're skiing in Japan in the middle of February.
The Bakan is an ultra-light, top of the range ski aimed at demanding freeriders who want performance and aren't afraid of getting off the beaten track to hit the descent hard!
